     The Black and Decker Blender is a product of the Black and Decker Corporation even though a are probably best known for their contribution to the power tools and home improvement market.  Black & Decker has established their reputation for high quality products, unique product design, and consumer-friendly products in a global market. 

    Black & Decker has also manufactured a full line of products geared toward the home, specifically the kitchen.  Their full line of blenders has garnered positive customer reports across the board. 

     The Black & Decker Blender BL9000 5-Speed boasts a powerful 550-watt motor, dual-edge, 2-plane stainless steel blades, a durable 48-ounce glass jar, a sure-close lid, rubberized feet to ensure it won’t walk during operation, and a Liquid Crystal Display on the base so you can see at a glance the speeds you need.  If you prefer to have a blender jar that keeps drinks colder, you’ll appreciate the 5-Speed model with the stainless steel jar. 

     The Black & Decker Crush Master® may be the ideal for your kitchen if you enjoy having several blending speeds from which to choose.  This model is fully equipped with a stainless steel all-metal blade shaft, 12 speeds plus a pulsing option, a powerful 475-watt motor, and a large 42-ounce blender jar with a convenient built-in pouring spout.  This blender model is marketed as one that can easily crush ice for snow cones, iced drinks, protein drinks, and more.  However, one concern among consumers is that the base is made from plastic, making this blender less durable than it needs to be to accommodate 12 speeds.  The same people also mentioned that the motor on this Black & Decker blender model was louder than expected and desired.

     Black & Decker®’s Cyclone™ 12-Speed Blender is marketed as a blender that can make quick work of everything from ice to coffee beans and any liquids.  This blender features a 650-watt motor, 4-plane blades, and a one-of-a-kind contoured jar design.  The base and jar are locked together for greater stability.  The glass jar and the blades fashioned from stainless steel clean up quickly when put into the dishwasher.  The cord conveniently wraps up at the base, so storage is convenient.  However, consumers who purchased this model said it was good for blending liquids and even pulsing through fruit for smoothies.  However, when it came time to go through the ice and coffee beans, this model didn’t perform well.

     Black & Decker® does a fantastic job with their tools.  There probably isn’t a household in America that doesn’t have at least one tool manufactured by Black & Decker®.  However, in the area of this company’s blenders, consumers are not impressed.  Complaints have been logged about the poor performance from the motors when it comes to anything past liquid and soft fruit.  The construction isn’t durable all the way through, despite the stainless steel blades and shafts on a few.  The inner workings of these blenders are often plastic, which doesn’t hold up well over time.

     For households that require simply an attractive blender that can easily blend drinks, smoothies, thin sauces, and salad dressings, one of the Black & Decker® blender models is just right.  However, if you’re looking for a blender to perform well over time and to blend thicker and more dense food items, perhaps a Black & Decker® blender is not the best choice available for your kitchen.
